Consider using higher octane gas in order to get better gas mileage. Drive slightly under the speed limit, especially on highways. Consolidate errands based on location.  If you're driving to the grocery store, plan to visit the post office and bank while out.  It will eliminate excess gas on additional trips. Car pool for you or your kids, and offer to help your friends do the same.
